Connect a backup destination
Open Sync → Destinations, choose a storage provider, and use Test & save. After connecting, use Sync now for an initial copy and optionally enable an automatic daily or weekly schedule.
S3-compatible
S3 / R2 / compatible storage
- 1. Choose S3-compatible.
- 2. Enter a destination name, provider service endpoint, bucket, region, access key, and secret key.
- 3. Keep path-style requests enabled if your provider requires it. For Cloudflare R2, the region is commonly
auto; AWS normally needs the bucket’s region. - 4. Optionally choose a remote folder, then test and save.
WebDAV
Nextcloud or another WebDAV server
- 1. Choose WebDAV / Nextcloud.
- 2. Enter a name, the HTTPS WebDAV collection URL, username, and password or app password.
- 3. Optionally set a remote folder below that collection, then test and save.
- 4. Use a public HTTPS endpoint; local-network and non-HTTPS endpoints cannot be connected.
Google Drive
A dedicated Drive folder
- 1. Choose Google Drive and optionally name the Drive folder.
- 2. Select Connect Google Drive and complete Google authorization.
- 3. TailCache works only in the folder it creates and its contents, rather than across your whole Drive.
- 4. Sync now or set an automatic schedule once the destination appears.
Google Drive notice
TailCache’s Google Drive integration is currently unverified. Google will show warnings during authorization; this is expected. Review the consent screen carefully and continue only if you trust this TailCache installation.
